I remember the olden days when there was, at least, a cost of living increase for retirees. This is the first year in a series of years that one has come our way. So: lower case yay, sort of.
Yes, I hear that. Also the newspaper editorialized this morning that it might be a bad idea to give bonus pay to employees because the economy is so bad. Of course, it's much better for the county to sit atop the hoard, instead of awarding it to folks who just might spend it in the community and enrich the coffers of the local merchants who just might buy more advertising. But that's just me.....
